Competition for premiums is restricted to Carver and adjoining counties except in the case of livestock where special regulations apply.
All entries must be made and delivered to the Superintendent by 3:00 p.m. on Entry Day unless another time is requested. Refer to division of the exhibit for special instructions.
All exhibits must be entered in the name of the owner.
No animal or exhibit will be assigned a place on the grounds unless proper entry has been made.
Livestock must be brought to the judging ring promptly upon being called.
Exhibitors must care for their own livestock exhibits. Care and feed will be provided for poultry.
No animal or article unworthy of a premium shall receive 1st place even though there be no competition. Nor shall any animal or article receive a higher premium than its merit demands. When there is nothing in a class deserving a premium, the judge or committee shall make no award. Lack of competition shall not be cause for withholding a premium, if the animal or article is worthy.
Any person who attempts to interfere with the judging of exhibits shall forfeit any award that he or she may be entitled to in that division.
No animal or article shall compete for more than one award except when the animal is used as part of a herd or group class.
Livestock judges shall give reasons for their placing at the completion of the judging of each class. Other judges may be asked to give reasons for their decisions.
Pedigrees (or proof of eligibility to record by registry certificates of sire and dam) of horses and cattle in the registered classes shall be shown to the Superintendent to entitle animals to premiums. This rule will be strictly observed.
Superintendents of all departments have the right to accept or reject any exhibit.
A duly licensed veterinarian has been designated as the official veterinarian of the fair. He will be in complete charge of the enforcement of sanitary and livestock health regulations and is authorized to inspect and examine all livestock at any time he feels this is necessary.
All buildings including exhibition halls, rings, stables, yards and pens have been cleaned and disinfected with an approved disinfectant as specified by the official veterinarian.
All Livestock Exhibitors must adhere to Minnesota Livestock Sanitary Board Regulations LSB 40. Below is a condensation of the requirements. If any questions, contact your veterinarian or the County Agent.
